Lorraine McGinlay is a leading sexual and relationship therapist working with individuals and couples from her private practice in Hertfordshire. After a successful career in the civil service Lorraine re-trained as a counsellor and has dedicated her speciality after qualifying as a Psychosexual Therapist, who now applies her experience to help clients overcome a wide range of issues.
She is a qualified person centered counsellor (Dip.Couns) and an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), the UK’s leading organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues. She also supports and promotes her membership of Pink Therapy and the Counselling Directory.
Lorraine was elected on to the board of trustees for COSRT in 2014 and takes an active role in their Media Team dealing with Press Enquiries and Social Media Strategy.
She is proud to be an approved Counsellor for the BUPA counselling service so if you have BUPA Healthcare cover you can be referred to Lorraine at her Private Practice.
Lorraine has volunteered her time to supporting a wide range of disability organisations including Hertfordshire Action of Disability (HAD) and the MS Therapy Centre in which she previously held the position of Chair and was instrumental in modernising the centre and creating a broader spectrum of accessibility. She has been a key speaker at a wide range of local and national events which have included mental health, disability and sexual therapy. As well as a volunteer she fundraises for various charities including Cancer Hair Care, a local charity helping people deal with hair loss due to chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
