When I first consulted a Life Coach, I was asked to complete a questionnaire before our first session.

I remember opening the questionnaire a few weeks before and glancing at the questions quickly. I closed the document and didn’t think about it again until 24 hours before the first session.

The deadline for the questionnaire to be sent back to him.

24 hours before, I casually opened the document and had a sudden clarity moment:

“OMG these are really bloody hard questions!”

As I say to my clients when I set them any homework, he had stressed to me that I needed to give myself sufficient time to answer all the questions properly otherwise I was wasting his and my time, plus my money.

I’m embarrassed to say I rushed all my answers because I found them really hard to answer and I’m even more embarrassed to admit that he caught me out straight away in our first session.

V v v rarely do I get embarrassed btw, but I was in this instance.

He knew I had rushed my answers and he looked at me with disappointment.

Being a Life Coach now, I 100% sympathise with him and he said to me:

“The only person who can change your life is you and it’s going to require effort.”

So, what were the questions that he asked me and why were they so hard to answer?

The questions are below for you to work through.

They are strategic, personal and powerful.

By the end of answering the questions below, you will hopefully have some clarity as to who you really are.

Why is this important?

It’s important to be self-aware because it helps you to grow as a person and perhaps establish which areas of your life need attention.

So, when you’re ready grab a pen and notebook and go somewhere quiet and answer the following:

  1. What makes you happy?
  2. What makes you sad or angry?
  3. What are your bad habits?
  4. Use 5 words to describe yourself.
  5. Use 5 words other people would use to describe you.
  6. How do you think you’re perceived by other people?
  7. Are you happy with how you’re perceived?
  8. What are you good at?
  9. What are your top 5 achievements in life so far?
  10. What are your top 5 disappointments in life so far?
  11. What fears you most?
  12. What 10 things are you tolerating in your life?
  13. What hobbies do you have or would you like to have?
  14. Who inspires you in life?
  15. Who do you want to be in life?
