So, how do you cope when things go wrong?
Everything that you do seems to go wrong and everyone seems against you.
It could be an accumulation of things that leads you into a place where it feels like everything in your life is going wrong.
You suddenly feel like you are failure.
It could be how you look, weight gain, poor academic performance, no romantic involvements, socially awkward, lack of wealth, no friends etc.
Whatever YOUR reason for feeling everything is going wrong, I’m here to tell you that EVERYONE has the ability to transform their life.
YOU have the ability to change your life NOW and I’m going to give you my 6 Tips To Turn Your Life Around When Things Go Wrong.
Here we go:
- Go somewhere where you can be by yourself and think. What areas of my life need improvement?
- What specifically needs improvement in those areas?
- What are the steps I can take to improve them? If you find this difficult think in baby steps.
- What obstacles will I face?
- What support will I need?
- If you find the above 5 steps difficult and you literally can’t think; ask a friend or even better go and see a Life Coach.
- Devise a Plan of Action.
It’s easy to be negative and it’s easy to be sucked down the rabbit hole of negativity.
That’s why I’m a BIG advocate of a gratitude practise. Be it a formal practise (set time every day) or an ad-hoc practise, my advice is to think and feel the gratitude for all the good things in your life whenever negativity starts to arise.

3. Flip Side Thought
Most people experience negative thoughts; however, you can proactively manage how you react to them as they arise by:
- Acknowledging the negative thought (this is powerful in itself).
- Don’t fight the thought!
- Then quickly reach for a positive thought. Be it a quote or a memory or rationalising how your feeling etc.
Sounds simple and IT IS.
If you’re disciplined with flip side thinking and persistently flip your thoughts, you will train your mind to replace the negative thoughts with positive thoughts before you’ve even thought about it………..
Whatever your situation, exercise will always always always help.
I don’t think you need the science explanation (release of endorphins and BDNF) as to why exercise can instantly boost your happiness levels. You can prove it to yourself now. Go for a quick walk around the block or go and do 50 star jumps in your lounge. How do you feel afterwards? I can almost guarantee better.
Build some form of exercise into your daily routine for clarity, energy and happiness.
5. Happy List
Identify those things that make you happy, small and big and proactively weave one of them into your life once a day.

6. Toxic Relationships
You are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with. So, make sure they are good people!
Toxic relationships have a habit of creeping up on us like stealth and essentially wreaking havoc in our lives.
Whereas positive relationships have the exact opposite effect.
Take time to analyse the relationships you have and weed out the bad ones.
Remember life is a series of up’s and downs BUT it’s how we respond to our circumstances that matters.
It’s ok to not be ok, it’s ok to be down, it’s ok to not be perfect.
However, if you push yourself to be the best version of yourself that you can be, even when you don’t feel like it, you will NEVER REGRET IT.
