In today’s podcast, Natural Fertility For Over 40’s Series: Nutrition, I talk to nutrition expert, Jenny Tschiesche, all about how to adapt your diet to boost your fertility in your 40’s.

Jenny Tschiesche (pronounced Teeshee) is one of the UK’s leading nutrition experts and the founder of LunchboxDoctor.com, a hugely popular brand. Jenny delivers sought-after workshops globally to workplaces, sports teams/clubs, and schools. She has worked with leading brands and health campaigns including BBC Sport, Sport England and Cancer Research UK.

Fertility Friendly Recipes

 

FERTILITY SMOOTHIE

40g baby kale

200ml coconut water

½ an orange

120g chopped pineapple

1 underripe banana

1 tsp spirulina

Blend all ingredients at full speed.

Serves 2

 

SARDINE PASTA WITH CHILLI AND LEMON

120g tin of sardines in oil

1 clove of garlic, chopped

1 small chilli, chopped

1 tbsp tomato puree

100g cooked pasta

Juice of half a lemon

2 tbsp fresh basil

Twist of ground black pepper

Use some of the oil from the tin of fish and heat this in a pan. Add the garlic and chilli and fry until aromatic. Add the tomato paste and stir well then the sardines and mash these down. Next add the pasta and lemon juice then heat through before serving with basil and pepper over. 

Serves 1

 

OVERNIGHT OATS

85g oats

250ml milk

2 tsp honey/maple syrup

1 tbsp chia seeds

Fresh fruit – chopped e.g. kiwi, berries, oranges

 

Soak the oats, milk, honey/maple and chia seeds overnight in a sealed container in the fridge. 

Serve the following day with prepared fruit on top.
